The Byodoin Temple in Uji City, Kyoto is truly stunning! Have you admired the Phoenix Hall depicted on the japanese 10 yen coin? It represents beauty and elegance at its finest. The temple's architecture is incredibly captivating, showcasing intricate details and a unique shape. It is indeed a remarkable sight!

Explore the Phoenix Hall od Byodo-in!

Since 1951, the Phoenix Hall at Byodo-in has held significant importance in Japan — it is even depicted on the back of the 10-yen coin! Initially constructed for the regents of the Fujiwara clan, it now serves as a Buddhist place of worship. Inside, you can admire the Amitabha Tathagata statue, designated as a Kyoto National Treasure. And be sure not to overlook the impressive golden phoenixes perched on the roof of the Phoenix Hall!

Chill Out at the Japanese Garden!

So, there's this awesome Japanese garden at the temple, done up in the Jodo Garden style. It's all about capturing that Heian period garden vibe. The layout is all about mirroring the 'Buddhist Pure Land', with the peaceful Aiji-ike Pond taking center stage against the backdrop of some epic mountains. Byodo-in's garden is the OG Jodo-style garden and has even been named a National Historic and Scenic Beauty Site. Pretty cool, right?

10000 yen notes! NOT only 10 yen!

It's interesting to note that Byodo-in is featured not only on the japanese 10 yen coin but also on the 10000 yen note issued since 2004. The phoenix symbolizes happiness and is depicted floating around on the notes, spreading joy throughout Japan. It's a beautiful representation of positivity and good fortune.
